Umpire Training classes that are currently scheduled:
If you have previously umpired there is no need to retake the classes. If you are a new umpire you must attend two classes prior to getting any assignments. You must be, at minimum, league age 12! No exceptions!!! There are two type of classes, Classroom and Field training. You must take each type of class. Also, you MUST take the Classroom training prior to taking Field Training.
Class 1: Classroom Training - Tuesday August 14, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Valliere room @ Yeonas Park. Class 2: Classroom Training - Monday August 20, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Valliere room @ Yeonas Park. Class 3: Field Training - Thursday August 23, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Rhodes Field @ Yeonas Park.
The Valliere room is to the left side of the snack bar as you are walking up the parking lot towards Rhodes field. It is indoors, so no matter the weather we will have the training. The field training is somewhat dependent on weather conditions. I will make every effort to update those registered for the class.
If you want to take a class, please send me an email at Mitchman10@yahoo.com and let me know what classes you are taking. I would like the umpire's name, email address, phone number, and classes they plan to attend.
Especially with the field training, we need to keep classes from getting too large. So if the class gets too large I will not allow any walk-ups.
If you are an adult who wants to umpire, please email me directly @at firstname.lastname@example.org!

-Fielding: Fielding will have a focus on footwork to help create a larger fielding range and working through the ball so that athletes make plays on the ball as opposed to letting the ball play them.
-Strengthening: Will cover basic strengthening exercise specially focused on baseball movements to increase speed, agility and power.
