CALL FOR MAJORS MANAGERS
Apply by Wednesday, November 15th

VLL is seeking Manager applications for the Majors Colts and Majors Reds teams for Spring 2018. Selected managers will lead their team of 10, 11, and 12 year old players through all activities of the spring season and can contribute to the Fall Ball Program.

Everyone knows that the quality of our coaches is the principal reason for the success or our league. Coaching our young players is a wonderful opportunity and an important responsibility. Our coaches have an opportunity to influence young players for a lifetime of good citizenship, sportsmanship, and healthful activity.

If you are interested in being a majors manager, or if you know someone that would be interested, follow the steps below to submit an application.  If you are interested, please submit:

  • cover letter describing interest and attributes;
  • resume including details about coaching background and experience;
  • at least three and no more than six letters of recommendation from parents of players, other coaches, or other people who are familiar with you as a person and as a coach;
  • examples of previously used or proposed practice plans to augment the application.

The deadline for Manager applications is November 15, 2017.

Please email your application to the chairperson of the VLL manager selection committee: Matthew Pickford at  . Candidates will interview with the manager selection committee in late November 2017. Please direct any questions to Matthew Pickford.

A Special Note about a Member of the VLL Community

We are very saddened to have learned about the unexpected passing of Kirsten Evans this past week. Wife of Peter, and proud mother of son Kyle and daughter Madison, Kirsten will be missed by so many of us in the Vienna community. We send her family our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
