BE A BASEBALL HOST FAMILY Share Your Home with a Possible Future Pro Ball Player
If you love baseball and the idea of sharing your home with a possible future Professional Baseball Player, we have an opportunity for you!
The FCA Braves summer collegiate baseball team is bringing talented players from all across the USA right here to the Northern VA community! Help us bring this winning team to our area by volunteering to be a host family. Host families provide a safe and comfortable family environment.
The Braves have had over 19 players drafted by MLB to play professional baseball, including current MLB players, Brandon Guyer with the Cleveland Indians and Chris Taylor with the LA Dodgers.
The Braves play in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League(CalRipkenLeague.org). Our roster includes college players from D1, D2, D3, and JUCO from around the country. These young men will play 40 games during the month of June and July and participate in FCA Baseball programs, providing a positive influence in our community and in your home.
Players will begin arriving in late May/early June and will be playing baseball until late July. Host families typically provide meals for the player and give them access to a washer and dryer. Some families have hosted two baseball players and find it is sometimes easier than just hosting one. It is common that players and their local families form a bond that doesn't end when the season comes to a close.
The FCA Braves could not exist without the support and assistance of the community - especially the generous families and individuals who have opened their homes and hearts to these young players. For more information on how to become a Braves host family, contact Todd Burger atTburger@fca.org. You can view the Housing Guidelines for each player by clicking here.
Please fill out the Host Family interest form by clicking hereand we will contact you. Each host family will receive a free"Host Family Package" that includes:
Host Family Recognition Night

VLL has teamed up again with Positive Coaching Alliance to provide a special workshop this spring tailored for our parents.
On the VLL website, there is a PCA resource center which can be accessed by clicking on the "Coaches Corner" tab on the home page. This resource center provides valuable information on how PCA works and how your support of PCA directly impacts your player, your team, and the sport.
Below is important information to be aware of at all VLL events, whether you are a league parent or volunteer (e.g., team manager and coaches), and whether it be at Yeonas Park or a VLL satellite field (e.g., Cervenak Field @ Glyndon Park, Black and Curry Fields @ Nottoway Park, Stenwood Field, etc.)
"Always" respect the game, the umpire, the rules, your teammates and parents, and the other team by abiding by the League's Code of Conduct and Positive Coaching Alliance Principles.
