VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers run Vienna Little League. The following page outlines and describes the VLL volunteer positions that you may select during registration.
So how can you help? If you can find a niche below and volunteer during the season, you can feel good about contributing to a Vienna institution that’s now more than a half-century old.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Managers
Responsibilities vary according to level. See VLL.org, Coaches’ Corner, Handbooks. Managers are responsible for their teams’ administration, which includes attending a few meetings with their League Director, assisting in team formation or drafts, communicating effectively with parents, working cooperatively with coaches, and being a steward of Yeonas Park. Contact the League Director (contact info at VLL.org>VLL Board) for the level you wish to manage with additional questions.
Coaches
Responsibilities vary according to level. Assist team’s manager. See VLL.org, Coaches’ Corner, Handbooks for managers’ responsibilities. Expected to attend 90% of team’s functions.
Umpire
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Attending Umpire training

Umpiring Games as assigned by Umpire-in-Chief

Being on time (or early) for all scheduled games

Note: you will be assigned to Umpire Games that do not include you player.

- Town Tournament, Majors, 3A, 2A (June)
- 1A Field Day (June)
- TBall and Rookie Finale (June)
- All Stars (June, July)
- Pitch, Hit, Run Derby (May)
- Snack Bar (March, April, May, June, July)
- VLL Day, Skills (June)
- Satellite Field repair (March, April, May, June)
- Fundraising (April, May)
- Sponsor Appreciation Day (May)
Background Check Applications
Volunteers are required to have annual background checks performed by VLL and First Advantage.
