Are you interested in umpiring this Spring!

New umpires are required to be at least "League Age 12", and must attend:

one (1) Basic Classroom Rules and Procedures clinic and
one (1) Field Mechanics clinic.

Each will run about 2 hours in length.  In the classroom clinic, you will learn how the umpire program is run, how to sign up for games, and we will review the most important rule situations that you will encounter.  The Field Mechanics clinic is to teach on-field positioning and responsibilities.

Returning umpires may also attend these classroom and field sessions.

Schedule permitting, an advanced classroom session will be scheduled later in March, so returning umpires will not have to sit through the same clinic you attended in a previous season.

MAJORS UMPIRE CANDIDATES:
Separate classroom and/or field clinic(s) will also be scheduled for experienced youth umpires who have umpired Majors games, or wish to be considered for umpiring Majors games this Spring.  This will be in lieu of the basic classroom clinic.  That session will focus on more advanced rules situations, and allow for more time to have a question and answer session to address rules or situations that you have encountered and would like guidance on.  Ages 14 and up (2nd year out of playing in VLL).
